Gotta Love Mondays...

Hi everyone!  We had a great first day! We are working in the same city/area that we did last year.  I am brushing teeth in the very same spot.  This is an extremely rare opportunity to be able to go back to the very same place.  I've seen so many children that I saw last year, which is really neat to see how far they've come in their relationship with Christ and the Church.
On a much more superficial note, my mother and I had a dilemma for much of today.  We started off with a Coke "Light" that we had reserved for mornings like these.  As we were walking down that steep hill to meet our tasty plate of food, we looked at each other and said at nearly the same time, "it's time for a diet coke".  Shallow, I know.  But some things are just THAT important.  We see the kind lady laying out the drinks for us.  We eye the Coke Zeros and before I knew it- yes, it happened.  Four Coke Zeros. (The only Coke Zeros) Were grabbed and we were left empty handed.  We were forced to be healthy and have water with our lunch.  When 5:00 rolled around, we were standing together, mother and daughter, as a pair of zombies dreaming about the cokes stored in our refrigerator.  The lack of diet coke in ones system can really affect the the performance level of women, such as ourselves.

Another thing for those of you that know "Rae Anne" so well-  I have begun a tally of the number of people that say "Wow, your teeth are soooo white!!"  It makes me laugh every time.  I think its getting to her too. She doesn't talk anymore in order to hide her fluorescent whites.  Just kidding. She'll never stop talking.  As a matter of fact, one of our interpreters asked her what she thought her talents were. She is a woman of many, but I consider talking her greatest ability.

All in all today was wonderful.  It was pretty cold, cloudy, and wet.  At the end of the day, when we were packing up, we saw a rainbow.  It was encouraging.  We saw many children and adults give their lives to Christ, and we are looking forward to what God has in store for us tomorrow!

This is Matteo (the boy from last year that was locked inside his home.  We were able to reach through the roof in order to give him food) It was amazing getting to see him again!!
